Join a life-changing Sri Lanka group adventure where you’ll make a real difference while exploring this beautiful island with like-minded travelers. Over 21 days, you and your group will settle into vibrant Kandy and take part in meaningful volunteer projects that support local communities—whether it’s helping at kindergartens, supporting special needs care, or working on community renovations. Between your project days, soak up Sri Lanka’s rich culture with visits to spice gardens, tea factories, temples, dance classes, henna painting, and sunset strolls around Kandy Lake.
Your Sri Lanka group adventure continues as you travel to Mawenella for an unforgettable Elephant Experience, caring for these gentle giants and learning about conservation firsthand. Then, enjoy one of the world’s most scenic train rides to the coastal paradise of Hikkaduwa. There, you’ll keep giving back through island clean-ups, beachside teaching, or community repairs. When you’re not volunteering, explore Galle Fort, watch sea turtles at a local hatchery, or take a river safari on the Madu River. This group experience perfectly blends service, wildlife, culture, and fun!
Itinerary
Day 1: Sunday – Arrival and Transfer to Kandy
Arrival in Colombo and transfer to your accommodation at the Kandy TGL Center. After dinner, enjoy free time to relax or join group activities.

Day 2: Monday – Program Introduction & Cultural Visits
Begin with an introduction to the program. Later, visit a spice garden, have lunch there, and tour a tea factory.

Day 3: Tuesday – Project Work & Lake Walk
Participate in your selected project: Kindergarten, Special Needs, or Construction & Renovation. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk around Kandy Lake.

Day 4: Wednesday – Project Work & Dance Lesson
Continue your project work in the morning. In the afternoon and evening, take part in a traditional Sri Lankan dancing lesson.

Day 5: Thursday – Project Work & Henna Painting
Work on your chosen project in the morning and afternoon. End the day with a henna painting session.

Continue your work on the Kindergarten or Special Needs project. In the afternoon, visit a gem museum and silk factory.

Day 7: Saturday – Dambulla Caves & Elephant Safari
Travel to Dambulla and visit the famous cave temples. In the afternoon, enjoy an incredible wild elephant safari.

Day 8: Sunday – Hike & Transfer to Mawenella
Hike to Lion’s Rock in the morning. Then return to Mawenella and check in at the elephant accommodation.

Day 9: Monday – Elephant Experience & Leisure
Take part in the Elephant Experience Program. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore the area.

Return to the Kandy TGL Center. Later, take part in a cultural village experience.

Take a scenic train ride down to Hikkaduwa beach. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the sea.

Day 16: Monday – Project Work & Galle Fort Visit
Participate in your assigned project: island cleaning, teaching, or renovations. In the evening, visit Galle Fort to watch the sunset.

Day 17: Tuesday – Project Work & Free Time
